We have all by now received notification from suppliers as to their projected
timetable for getting their systems ready to be able to output the new IFcc
aligned numbers from 1st June 2009. However, I believe that I have identified
a problem.
The current edition of the Pathology Bounded Codes list (V1.018) we use to
send results to GP systems, which was updated November 2008, only has the
following code for HbA1c
42W4. - HbA1c level (DCCT aligned).
As the next version is not yet available, does anyone know if a new code has
been requested for the HbA1c level (IFCC aligned)? If not, then we are going
to be in a bit of a pickle when we start sending these results out to GP's.
Maybe someone in the know can let us know that everyting will be alright, as I
cannot find any link to show the PBCL list on the CfH website.
