In case you are interested in spectating, our latest I'm a Scientist event is now in full swing. (www.imascientist.org.uk > GUEST ACCESS). Feel free to play 'guess the winner'. Office opinion is divided on who we think. And we all got it wrong in the pilot, so I'd ignore us anyway.
We're just running a small event with one set of six scientists this time, but we've had lots of questions - funny, serious, challenging - to the scientist's Q+A section, and a live chat this morning which took in what makes us human, the difficulties of grant funding and Derby County's football chances.
A few of the questions so far:-
"My friend puts his finger in his nose, could you tell him why its not vey good to do this and why its not good to put our fingers in our mouths thankyou"
"Who inspires you- is it a scientist or family member etc.?"
"Are you trying to code the growth of plants and people into equations or trying to map the growth pattern or the shapes the cells change into?"
And the rather ominous...
"What Do You Base Your Conclusions On? Accurate Data? Or Just Your opinion?"
The first eviction is next Monday.
Best wishes,
Sophia
