Bang-on, Sophia (and guilty as charged, frankly).
See also Seesmic, which is an explicitly discussion-based web video
platform:

YouTube is fascinating, and I believe it recently overtook Yahoo as
the second most popular search system on the web - it's way behind the
leader (and owner) Google, of course, but there's still a huge
audience who preferentially search for stuff via YouTube rather than
in text.
However, the heap of information it's built on is, let's face it,
mostly ripped-off. Then there's the limitation where, when you upload
to YouTube, you grant commercial exploitation rights to your film to
Google. There are some odd interactions between this and Creative
Commons licensing in the new download system they're testing in the
US, and I'm left slightly uneasy about some aspects of it.
Finally, a significant proportion of UK local authorities block
YouTube access from school premises.
YouTube is a much more compelling platform than it was a year or so
ago, but it's not the only place you might want to publish your video
material, and not the only community you might want to engage.
