Following the posting I forwarded last Friday evening (GMT) it seems
sensible to ditto this update that arrived overnight from USA.

This appears to be true for the database PURL in OCLC record #50262932
as well. It now points to archived pages in http://webharvest.gov/ but
there's no data there. This affects some 131 holding libraries.
The Atlas PDF files from http://purl.access.gpo.gov/GPO/LPS20798 were
archived but the Database PURL http://purl.access.gpo.gov/GPO/LPS19148
should be deactivated if there's no content. I will report this problem
to Federal Depository Program Staff at GPO and see if access to the data
can be restored.

"Many of you (74 libraries including mine) have the 2001 World Ocean
database from NODC on 8 CDs. The catalog record included a number of
links to the datasets online. FYI - the 2001 data has been replaced by
WD05 (2005 data?) and is no longer available through the web. You may
want to delete the dead urls from your catalog record.
