Be your own boss: tips from the top on using your information management skills to set up your own business
In the current economic climate of job uncertainty are you tempted to go it alone? How can info pros equip themselves to become successful business people? And is there something we can all learn from the innovation of the information business world? The Commercial Legal and Scientific Information Group (CLSIG) welcomes you to their combined AGM and entrepreneurship seminar based on the theme of business start ups in the information sector to explore these questions and many more.
Penny Bailey will talk about the inspiration to set up Bailey Solutions <http://www.baileysolutions.co.uk/> and how she has used the skills she developed as a librarian to help her succeed in business. Jill Fenton <http://www.fentonresearch.co.uk/> will be sharing her experiences of setting up her own independent business research company. Leading industry commentator, Tim Buckley-Owen will chair the session, giving the audience plenty of opportunity to grill our speakers on what it really takes to be your own boss.
Doors open at 6pm, the event will run 6.30 - 8.30pm. The Entrepreneurship seminar will start after the AGM at approximately 7.30 pm and will be followed by a networking reception. The AGM is free, the seminar is priced as below. For this event you may bring a non-CLSIG member friend or colleague absolutely free!
