Tervetuloa Tampereelle,
Welcome to Tampere!
Registration for the 35th Annual International Association for Social
Science Information Service and Technology (IASSIST) conference is now
open! Full conference programme with abstracts, including pre-conference
workshops and posters, is available on the conference web site at:
http://www.fsd.uta.fi/iassist2009/
Hosted by the Finnish Social Science Data Archive and the University of
Tampere, IASSIST 2009 will take place in Tampere, Finland, 26-29 May,
2009, at Tampere Hall. The conference will be held in collaboration with
International Federation of Data Organizations for the Social Science
(IFDO) as IASSIST/IFDO 2009.
The theme of the conference is Mobile Data and the Life Cycle. The 2009
conference is an opportunity to discuss creation, collection, sharing,
storage, preservation, dissemination, confidentiality, licensing and
access to data in a world that is becoming increasingly mobile. Conference presentations demonstrate that key to success in this new order is establishing standards and best practices at all stages of the life cycle. This will facilitate the free and easy movement of information between hardware devices, software platforms, individuals, governments, or organizations.
The Early Bird registration rate is valid until March 24, 2009. Please
note that a deposit of one night for accommodation should be paid
together with the registration fees. Cancellations (conference
attendance, hotels, tours) on or before April 24 will receive a refund
minus the administrative fees. There is more information on registration, fees, accommodations, excursions and travelling on the web site at: http://www.fsd.uta.fi/iassist2009/registration.html.
