The School for Journalism, Media and Communication of the University of Central Lancashire will start a one-year MA in Rhetoric. The course will start in September (subject to validation).
The MA in Rhetoric provides students with the opportunity to study the history and theory of rhetoric, the practice of discourse or 'speaking well', and to master that practice themselves. Rhetoric has been at the centre of European culture, education and public life, and of European ideas about the nature of human life, since antiquity. Today, as communicative practices and competences are changing faster than ever and are more important than ever before, Rhetoric is being rediscovered and further developed. The MA provides a unique opportunity in the UK to study an exciting and rich field of intellectual, critical and practical relevance.
