Two members of staff are wanting to conduct a research project looking into
student expectations of higher education. They want to contact applicants
who we’ve made an offer to, explaining the project and inviting them to
complete an online questionnaire. This will involve obtaining email addresses
for the students from our Management Information System. The student
details and individual questionnaire responses will not be shared with any third
parties.
If we haven’t advised the prospective students their data could be used in
such a way are we breaching data protection by emailing them to ask if they
would be willing to take part?
Thank you in advance for your help.
