ROYAL COLLEGE OF OBSTETRICIANS AND GYNAECOLOGISTS
INFORMATION SERVICES DEPARTMENT
Records Manager
Salary: £26,168-31,074
35 hours per week

The role of the College Archive & Records Management Service is to preserve
the intellectual and business integrity of the College. The team is responsible
for the College’s records management policies, programmes and procedures
and for providing advice, guidance and training to staff and Officers. The
collection includes extensive records relating to the activities of the College
since its foundation in 1929 as well as the personal and professional papers of
past Officers, Fellows and Members and the historical records of other
organisations in the field of obstetrics and gynaecology.

The post of Records Manager is designed to support the development and
effective management of the College’s corporate records during an exciting
period of change. The post-holder will take a leading part in a multidisciplinary
team responsible for the implementation of an electronic document and
records management programme based on SharePoint. The system must link
seamlessly with the College’s semi-current paper records and permanent
archive. The post-holder will liaise closely with colleagues at all levels in the
College to advise on aspects of records management as well as appropriate
information compliance and data management issues. He or she will also act as
the College’s Data Protection officer, ensuring compliance across the
organisation. In addition, the Records Manager will work with other members of
the department to provide a high-quality enquiry service both within and
outside the College.

The ideal candidate will hold a professional qualification in records
management, archive administration or an equivalent subject and have some
experience of working in an electronic records management environment. They
will be enthusiastic, have an adaptable and flexible approach to work and be
willing to tackle the challenges posed by the implementation of a new system
across the organisation.

The College is a membership organisation concerned with standards of training
and education in the medical specialty of obstetrics and gynaecology. Located
in pleasant offices overlooking Regent’s Park, the College offers an excellent
and friendly working environment with a package that includes free lunches,
subsidised gym membership, season ticket loan, first class pension scheme and
generous annual leave entitlement.
