Research Associate/Senior Research Associate (fMRI Methods)
The Wellcome Trust Centre for Neuroimaging (WTCN) invites applications
for the above post in the Theory and Methods Group. The Laboratory
pursues brain research by means of functional and structural imaging and
data analysis using SPM Software.
We seek an fMRI scientist to maintain and develop fMRI analysis methods
implemented in our data analysis software (SPM), provide support to SPM
fMRI users within and outside WTCN, and pursue his/her own research. The
Department is equipped with a 1.5T Siemens Sonata scanner and a 3T
Siemens Allegra scanner. The appointee will work alongside members of
the Theory and Methods Group, reporting to the Head of Methods, Dr Will
Penny.
The appointment will be made on UCL Grade 7 or Grade 8, depending on the
level of skills and experience as detailed in the job description. All
applicants should have a PhD in neuroscience or a science relevant to
fMRI, good programming skills in Matlab and C/C++, a sound knowledge of
statistics and modelling, familiarity with the structure of SPM software
and its underlying algorithms, experience of fMRI methods research, and
a track record of publications in the area.
Starting salary will be in the range £28,839 - £35,469 pa for an
appointment on UCL Grade 7 (Research Associate) or £36,532 - £43,622 pa
for an appointment on UCL Grade 8 (Senior Research Associate), plus
£2,781 pa London Allowance, superannuable. The post is available
immediately and funded until September 2011 in the first instance.
