Dear Henrique,
you might try to install the updates before taking the compilation route:
ftp://ftp.fil.ion.ucl.ac.uk/spm/spm5_updates/Updates_1782.tar.gz
so that newer files overwrite existing files.
I guess you are using a Mac. If you have a Mac Intel with 32bit Matlab,
also install:
ftp://ftp.fil.ion.ucl.ac.uk/spm/spm5_updates/SPM5_Matlab7.4_MacIntel_MEX.tar.gz
afterwards.
If you have a beta Matlab 64bit (does not seem the case, though), then
I'm afraid you will have to compile the MEX files yourself, see
https://www.jiscmail.ac.uk/cgi-bin/webadmin?A2=SPM;jkppYw;20080916195849%2B0100
Best regards,
Guillaume.
