Applications are sought for a position in Dr. Aron's lab (www.aronlab.org) in the Psychology
Department at the University of California, San Diego. Come join the rich UCSD
neuroscience and psychology communities and our growing group to study the neural
mechanisms underlying how we use our goals to control our response tendencies. The
position is full-time for 1 year, with the possibility of annual extensions up to five years.
The candidate will have a strong background in human cognitive neuroscience and/or in
cognitive psychology. The candidate will be proficient with computer programming. The
candidate will be engaged in designing, piloting and running cognitive experiments with one
or more of functional imaging, transcranial magnetic stimulation (of motor system) and
electrophysiology. Training in some techniques is available. Applications are welcomed from
current Ph.D. students who will have submitted their dissertations in the near future. The
position is available for a start as soon as June 1st 2009. Salary will be commensurate with
experience, and will come with full health and other benefits at the University of California.
