Dear Colleague,
A very good Monday morning and early spring greetings from the East of England.
Journals usually come out with rapid publications on the wonderful effect of drug X or Y in disease A or B (often supported by the industry!). It is heartening to see that he MJA has come out with a rapid publication on an important PH policy issue - alcohol taxation.
With the ongoing debate on alcohol taxation here in the UK http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/health/7945357.stm
I thought this rapid publication from Australia might be of interest to some colleagues on the list.
Alcohol taxation policy in Australia: public health imperatives for action Full text available @

Colleagues may be aware that Australia has always been the world leaders in developing and implementing public health policy for the benefit of the wider population managing to overcome other(!) interests.
Warm regards & very best wishes,
Badri
