Dear All
Apologies for cross-posting.
We have recently moved from Dynix to SirsiDynix Symphony and noticed that
newly created subject headings (LSCH) were not displaying the subfields
(x,y,z etc.) in the Subject authority index - just the main term. Data
migrated across from Dynix does include subfields in the indexes. SirsiDynix
have informed us we can change our authority file configuration to display
our subfields, giving a much fuller and richer subject authority index, the
obvious disadvantage to this is that it requires more maintenance of the
authority indexes.
If anyone has had a similar experience or changed their indexing/authority
control policy and is willing to share their thoughts, please reply to me
directly.
Kinds regards,
