Dear Jean,
I hope your operation goes well. I'm sure you'll soon be in training
for the marathon.
Well done you to have escaped early. Some of us from Gloucester Uni
came to visit you a while ago and you tried to put us off Aleph.
Unfortunately, we have got it, and much trouble it has brought us too!
Anyway, the best of luck for the future, I'm sure you will enjoy every
minute.
Best wishes,
Jill

Subject: Thank you
Dear ILL folk
I thought I'd say goodbye to you all as I'm scheduled to go into
hospital on 20th March for a knee replacement operation. If all goes
well I shall be off sick for about 4 months. However, I have also asked
to be included in the University's early retirement scheme. Although I
won't know the outcome of that for a little while, if it goes through I
shall be retiring at the end of July. I wanted to say how good it has
been to work in ILL and document supply over the years. I have met so
many wonderful people and quite the best part has been working with so
many splendid colleagues in every sort of library. I have enjoyed it
very much and found it a very good way to spend my professional life. I
shall miss you all even though I'm sure that I shall find plenty of
things to do with my time once I am back on my feet.
Thank you all for your help and support and for being there.
Jean
