AHRC DOCTORAL STUDENTSHIPS IN ITALIAN AT THE UNIVERSITY OF MANCHESTER

Italian Studies, in the School of Languages, Linguistics and Cultures
at the University
of Manchester, is pleased to announce funding opportunities for
Home/EU and International
students for a Doctoral (PhD) Award in Italian studies. The award is
funded by the AHRC's
Block Grant Partnership (BGP) and would be tenable for up to three
years of full-time
study or up to five years of part-time study. The studentships cover
tuition fees
(standard UK/EU rate) and (for UK applicants only) maintenance.

An AHRC Doctoral (PhD) Award in Translation Studies is also available
within the School
and Italian studies candidates are also welcome to consider this opportunity.

As part of the new procedure, candidates are required to apply for

for admission to a

These AHRC Doctoral Awards are in conjunction with other Postgraduate Funding
Opportunities 2009-10 within the School of Languages, Linguistics and
Cultures.
PhD and MA Fee Bursaries (partial awards, including Italian)
Up to 7 PhD bursaries of £3000 each and 6 MA fee bursaries of £3000
each, plus named
awards in certain subject areas.
