Laboratory of historical, social and cultural anthropology (LISKA)
(Saratov, Russia)
announces the VII Pyrrhean readings to take place in Saratov State
university in October, 2009. The topic of the conference is "Aggression.
Interpretation of culture codes". The conference is interdisciplinary,
the specialists in wide range of humanities including historical, social
and cultural anthropology, history, culture, art and literary studies,
sociology etc are invited to present their papers. A book in the series
"Interpretatsyja kul'turnykh kodov" will be a result of this enterprise.
The preliminary defined panels are:
* Pragmatics and semantics of aggression
* Aggression and culture encoding
* Aggression and different culture (spatio-magistical) zones
* Ritualized forms of aggression
Each presentation is limited to 20-25 min.
