Applications are invited for two new posts within the Division of Visual Arts at
Northumbria University
The Division of Visual Arts is a leading centre for supporting and energising
creative practice and academic study, informed by cultural partnerships and
inter-disciplinary collaborations and through national and international
networks. Located in the centre of Newcastle upon Tyne - one of the most
vibrant cities in the UK with a flourishing arts scene and home to numerous
cultural venues and creative spaces – the Division has an established track
record for producing highly skilled visual arts and cultural management
graduates pursuing careers in art practice; in museum and gallery curatorship
and administration; in education and community engagement; in cultural
enterprise; art conservation and academic research - and many remain
professionally active in the region.
Applicants who are able to demonstrate international achievement in research
and a high professional standing in the field and who are able to make a
significant contribution to the leadership and development of research and
consultancy within the School of Arts and Social Sciences may request to be
considered for the title of Reader.
