1. Association news
1.1 2009 ALT Learning Technologist of the Year Award. The rubric for the
2009 Award is now available at http://www.alt.ac.uk/awards.html
1.2 ALT is pleased to welcome a new sponsoring member;

1.3 Digest submissions address change. If you would like to submit an
item to the digest, please send it via email to [log in to unmask], paying
close attention to the submission advice at the foot of this email.
1.4 ALT Office closure over Easter. The ALT Office will be closed for
Easter between 10 April and 14 April inclusive.
1.5 The ALT Open Access Learning Technology Repository will be launched
shortly, and we intend to provide further details in the Digest on 17
April, as well as in the next issue of the ALT Newsletter.
1.6 We will shortly be issuing a call for nominations for election to a
three year term as a Trustee of ALT, which is open to individual members
of at least 12 months' standing and aged 18 years or over on 9 September
2009. The closing date for nominations will be in early June. Election
will be by ballot vote, online and by post. The ALT AGM will be at 15.00
on 9 September, in Manchester.

2.1 ALT-C 2009: “In dreams begins responsibility” – choice, evidence,
and change. 8-10 September 2009, Manchester, UK. We are very pleased to
announce that Martin Bean, Vice Chancellor Designate of the Open
University, will be a keynote speaker at the conference.
2.2 Welsh RSC E for Enhancement 2009 event in Cardiff on 2 April. If you
will be attending, please visit us on the ALT stand.
2.3 Dissemination event: Scoping a Vision of Formative E-Assessment
28 April, 10.10am - 4.00pm, London Knowledge Lab, Institute of
Education, University of London. Not strictly an ALT event, but we
played a role on the project steering committee, and so the event comes
with our recommendation.

2.4 ALT Sponsoring Member Desire2Learn will be hosting a workshop on VLE
