You will be a member of a highly successful team of mathematicians and
statisticians working to address challenging problems facing Australian
Industry, with a focus on the Services economy.
The Algorithms and Models for Risk Analysis (AMRA) Group, of which this
position is a part, aims to develop, implement and deliver robust and
accurate risk quantification and measurement methodologies in the
Services sector, with particular emphasis on finance, air transport and
infrastructure/ security spaces. Team members work collaboratively in
multidisciplinary teams with other parts of CSIRO and external clients.
We deliver benefits to business and industry by directly working with
industry practitioners in designing and implementing solutions. Our
research results are delivered through reports and software that are
used by industry practitioners in real-time production environments and
through publication of our research results.
We are seeking to fill a senior position to lead a team of approximately
16 staff contributing to our research program in the mathematical and
statistical modelling in risk. The successful candidate should have a
strong research oriented background in statistical methodology and an
appreciation of applications, ideally in the finance area.
The position is available for an immediate start.
