Dear Colleagues,

Please find below details of three new positions in the Department of Management Science within the Lancaster University Management School. I would be very grateful if you would bring them to the attention of potential candidates.

Best, Kevin Glazebrook

Lancaster University Management School

Department of Management Science

LANCS Initiative: Lecturer in Operational Research

Salary: £31,513-£43,622 Reference: A 172

LANCS Initiative: Post doctoral Research Associate or Senior Research Associate in Operational Research (3 years) Salary: £23,449 - £35,469 Reference: A 173

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a £13m initiative which brings together four British universities - Lancaster, Nottingham, Cardiff and Southampton - to develop world-leading work in the field of Operational Research (OR).

The LANCS Initiative, supported with a Science and Innovation Award from the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC), will bring about a significant expansion of the national research base in OR to build new research capacity and help UK industry to compete in the global market.

Lectureship: Candidates must hold a PhD in a relevant subject and must have a publication record in OR which demonstrates international excellence. Candidates with experience of theoretical developments within the principal research themes of the LANCS Initiative are particularly welcome.

Postdoctoral position: The postdoctoral research assistant will undertake OR research within one or more of the LANCS research themes. Candidates should be qualified to PhD level in a related subject and be able to demonstrate a strong and relevant research record.

Lecturer or Senior Lecturer in Operations Management

Salary: £31,513 - £52,086 Reference: A 171

The Department of Management Science is seeking to recruit a talented new colleague at either the Lecturer or Senior Lecturer level.

You should have research interests to complement those of the existing Operations Management (OM) group, whose interests span both qualitative and quantitative approaches and include supply chain management, green logistics, product customisation, service operations, health research and process improvement approaches. Teaching and administrative opportunities shared by the OM group include undergraduate and postgraduate student groups, including MBA students and students on the recently introduced MSc in Logistics and Supply Chain Management.
