I have 5 years experience of working with Stonewall and the Diversity Champions / Workplace Equality
Index.  This was key to progressing sexual orientation equality in my last post at Cambridge City
Council.  At Cambridge we are now using the Index benchmarking criteria as the basis of a best
practice improvement plan for LGBT issues.

I am happy to share off line the work with Stonewall at the City Council (where we achieved ranking
of top district council in the UK) or the new work starting here at Cambridge.

Hello Lenny,

We are currently in the process of applying for the stonewall index - we are at the early stages of
putting an implementation plan together. We have a representative attending a meeting with our
sexual orientation Champion next week to give an outline of the application process and what this
entails and means for the organisation.  I am happy to share with you our approach once we have more
direction from Stonewall.
