The newly opened Centre for Integrative Neuroscience and Neurodynamics
(CINN) at the University of Reading will shortly be announcing a
position for an MRI Scanner Technologist/Physicist.
The CINN incorporates a dedicated wing in the Psychology Department
building at the University of Reading. A 3T Siemens Trio
research-dedicated MRI scanner and high-density EEG laboratory were
installed in 2008. These facilities are complemented by high
resolution stimulus display systems with integrated eye tracking and
systems for recording peripheral psychophysiology. MRI and EEG
compatible TMS and NIRS systems are also planned for installation in
2009.
Research at the CINN builds upon existing interdisciplinary research
into the physiological and psychological mechanisms underpinning
complex cognitive behaviours, targeting typical and atypical
development and decline in individuals. CINN research involves
scientists in Psychology, Pharmacy, Biosciences and Genetics,
Mathematics, Cybernetics and Clinical Language Sciences.
The position will entail responsibility for the day to day operation
of the MRI scanner, maintaining the MRI scanner suite, supervision of
personnel and students involved in scanning, and management of scanner
operations and facilities. Suitable candidates will have
qualifications and experience in cognitive neuroscience, biomedical
technology, medical physics or engineering. MRI scanning experience
will be an advantage, but is not strictly necessary.
Expressions of interest in the position and requests for information
prior to the official announcement are invited. Please contact:
