Please underscore the term, "young children." It's natural that "young children" are afraid of anything new. Parents and other adults can have a great influence on getting children to be comfortable with something knew.
My daughter grew up with a family friend who has a removalbe hook where his hand is....she thinks nothing of it. But some adults are concerned just because its different.
We all know, don't we, that it is important to get children used to something new and different gradually.
I hope we're not getting off the rail, just because the press wanted a "sensational headline" and someone who doesn't understand children try to do a program for children.
