A PSI TRAINING COURSE ON THE DESIGN AND ANALYSIS OF CROSS-OVER TRIALS BY
MIKE KENWARD - 21ST & 22ND APRIL 2009
This is a reminder that there are places available on the 2-day training
course "The Design and Analysis of Cross-Over Trials" on 21st & 22nd

Tropical Medicine) at Theobalds Park, Lieutenant Ellis Way, Cheshunt,
Waltham Cross , Hertfordshire, EN7 5HW .

This introductory course covers both the design and analysis of
cross-over trials, from a basic level to more advanced topics. Prior
experience of cross-over trials is not required, but a good working
knowledge of conventional regression and analysis of variance will be
assumed. Some experience with generalised linear models would be
advantageous. The following key topics will be addressed:
The two-period two-treatment design
Detailed exposition
Issues including carry-over
The so-called two-stage procedure
Use of baselines and covariates
Higher-order designs
Designs with more than two periods and/or more than two treatments
Common types of design, eg William's square Methods for choosing and
comparing designs, and for determining their properties
Special cases, such as dose-escalation designs
Analysis
The use of fixed and random subject effects
The appropriate role of baseline covariates
Analyses for non-normal outcomes, such as binary, count, and ordinal
