Hi

Do you have a link to the editable flash quizzes in the e-contruction materials as these would be very useful?

Thanks
Helen

Hi,

Just wanted to add that some elements of the e-Construction materials
(namely the editable flash quizzes) can be re-used in other curricular
areas. They're of an extremely high quality, based on popular TV game-show
formats ('Brick'Busters, Who Wants to be Rich, etc.).

The BlendEd materials http://www.blend-ed.ac.uk <http://www.blend-ed.ac.uk/> , a collection of Business &
Social Care Units were produced by several colleges (led by Reid Kerr,
Langside, Cardonald, Coatbridge, Dundee & Glasgow Nautical) as part of one
of the Scottish eTransformation projects
http://www.jisc.ac.uk/whatwedo/programmes/elearningsfc.aspx. COLEG are
currently distributing the materials, but did not prepare them.

Another eTransformation project was the Collaborative e-Learning in the Life
Sciences (CELLS) http://www.cellsproject.org/, a collaboration between
Dundee U., Napier U., SQA, Scottish Colleges Biotechnology Consortium & the
now defunct Interactive University. They produced a series of online
materials (SCORM 1.2 units), now available through JORUM.

Hi

Adding my bit, for what it's worth..

Apart from NLN materials, which are hopefully going to become more popular
now with the Noodle plug-in, we have quite a lot of excellent construction
materials, primarily from Learn Direct and Build, all SCORM packages. The
COLEG group have also prepared materials in the BlendEd project, taking
complete unit course notes and putting them through Course Genie - these are
available for Business and Care.

Regards
Karen

Subject: [MOODLE-UK] Content?

If "content is king" then where are the crown jewels?

I know that the majority of Moodle users are uploading their own content and
creating their own courses, with activities of course (!), but having
existing
content that can then be adapted or integrated and combined with activities.
I'd be interested to know what free and commercial content Moodle users are
making use of.

Here's my short list to get the ball rolling what else is there out there?

Moodle Course Exchange: About 60 courses on the Moodle Course exchange
(some Moodle quizzes and glossaries too)
http://moodle.org/course/view.php?id=15

NLN materials: "Funded by the LSC and available free to all authorised
organisations in the post-16 sector, the NLN materials represent one of the
most substantial and wide-ranging collections of e-learning materials in the
UK." Can be used with or without Moodle.
http://www.nln.ac.uk/

I did see some commercial motor vehicle content available in Moodle but
can't
remember what and where? Are there any other examples of commercially
available content for Moodle.

Happy Moodling!

Jim :)
