The ‘Semantic Technologies for the Enhancement of Case Based Learning'
project (also known as ‘Ensemble') is part of the Technology Enhanced
Learning Programme jointly funded by UK's Economic and Social Research
Council (ESRC) and Engineering and Physical Science Research Council
(EPSRC). The Ensemble project is about exploring the potential of the
emerging ‘Semantic Web' (or ‘Web 3.0') to support teaching in complex,
controversial and rapidly-evolving fields where case based learning is
the pedagogical approach of choice.
The Ensemble Project Technical Research Coordinator will be
responsible for maintaining effective relationships with research
participants, members of the project team and staff in support of
project activity as well as taking responsibility for data systems,
and multimedia recording aspects of the day-to-day running of the
project. You will also undertake the presentation and achieving of
Project Data using Semantic technologies and the ESRC online research
environment and will also manage the online research environment and
help manage the website.
Educated to degree level, you will have experience of working in
University central services involving technology enhanced learning
research, demonstrable experience of working on research projects in a
role involving technical support and knowledge of Semantic
Technologies and SIMILE Tool kit or other similar Semantic tools . You
will also have knowledge of multimedia equipment and data formats and
can work both as part of a team and independently as well as
possessing good written and oral communication skills.
