Dear All,
Here are some written instructions on how to add material to the CILIP Information Literacy Group - Administration module. I plan to create more visual instructions soon.
Log-in to the module using your username and password (I sent them round last month).
Click on the Editing icon at the top right of the screen
Files: You can access all of the files and folders in the module using the File option in the Administration block. On this screen you have the ability to upload files, re-organise files and folders, and rename or delete files and folders.
> Click on Files in the Administration Block.
> Go to the Folder you want the files uploaded to
> Click on the Upload a file button.
> Click on the Browse button and browse your computer, select the required file by double clicking on it.
> Click on the Upload this file button.
You will return to File area of your module where you will see that your file has been added to the list.
Module: Resources
If you place a file in a folder that has already been linked to on the front page of the module, e.g. Quarterly team reports, they should automatically appear when the folder is clicked on. You can also create individual links to documents.
Linking to a file
> Turn editing on (top right of screen)
> Click on the Add a resource... drop down box in the Minutes topic section
> Select the Link to a file or web site option.
> In the Name box enter a recognisable name to link to your file (this will be the text for the link you click from the main module page to access the file).
> Click the Choose or upload a file... button to the right of the Location box. A new window will open listing the files you currently have available within this module.
> Click on the word Choose next to the file you would like to link to if your file is in the list.
> Otherwise, click on the Upload a file button.
> Click on the Browse button and browse your computer, select the required file by double clicking on it.
> Click on the Upload this file button.
>Your file will now appear in the file list.
> Click on the word Choose next to your file.
Either
> Click on the Save and display button. This will open the file you have linked to or Click on the Save and return to course button to return to your main module page.
You will see the link to the file in the selected content box.
I hope this all makes sense.
