GIS Data Co-ordinator

Angus Council has implemented a corporate Geographic Information System
(GIS) that allows access to geographic based data and mapping to staff and
pupils across the council using intranet and internet technologies.
Based at Angus House Forfar, you will assist in the co-ordination of the
council's use of GIS-related information. You will also help to develop,
implement and manage robust procedures for geographic information and
associated metadata as well as promoting best practice and standards. You
will also contribute in promoting knowledge and understanding of geographic
information and the opportunities for integration with other business systems.
You must have a Degree or HND, knowledge of GIS management, spatial data
and metadata standards along with experience of a range of GIS applications
and digitising and map production.
The ability to work either within a team or unsupervised and a full, current
driving licence and access to a vehicle are also essential.
Expertise in ESRI ArcGIS technologies including ArcSDE, experience of
Positional Accuracy Improvement and exposure to co-ordination of customer,
supplier and technical resources including task allocation and progress
monitoring is desirable.
