Hello all
My name is Georgie and I am studying in the last year of my undergraduate
property degree in Bristol. I am currently trying to undertake my dissertation
in which I am trying to examine how effective the the UK DDA (in particular
the 2004 act) has been, in improving disabled people's access to goods
and services in the built environment (apart from transport), and to what
degree are companies taking on board the act. I started off well but seem to
be struggling in finding academic material to ground my dissertation in, as
much of the material i have come across is more to do with understanding
the different models of disability. Unfortunately my tutor feels that I have lost
my way and at the moment the question posed and i am seeking to answer
is to broad.
Does anybody have awareness of specific areas and issues that need to be
addressed within the general area that i have indicated that would enable
me to have a tighter focus in my dissertation? Also are you aware of any
sources that i may have missed that could help me ground this dissertation
in academic material
As I have spent more time researching this topic I have gained such a big
insight into a subject that I knew very little about, therefore I really want to try
and make this dissertation work and be of interest to someone who reads it.
Yours Sincerely
Georgie
