Fourth Latin-American Symposium on Dependable Computing (LADC 2009)
LADC is the major Latin-American event dedicated to research on
computer system dependability (http://ladc2009.lsd.ufcg.edu.br). Its
goal is to provide a forum for Latin American and International
researchers to present and discuss its latest research on topics
covering theory and practice of dependable systems. The LADC program
will present technical sessions, workshops, tutorials and keynote
talks from top international experts in the area. The symposium scope
spans system, software, and hardware issues. Major topics include, but
are not limited to:
* Engineering dependable systems: hardware, networking, software,
deployment, and maintenance;
* Dependability of hardware: multi-core, transactional memory,
virtualization;
* Dependability of software: analysis, architecture, testing,
verification & validation, software certification;
* Dependability of networks: LAN, WAN, mobile, ad-hoc, sensor networks,
protocols;
* Dependability of data: storage, databases, middleware;
* Dependability of maintenance: tuning performance and availability,
security configuration;
* Security: foundations, policies, protocols, access control, intrusion
tolerance;
* Dependability and human issues: human-computer interaction, management
of complex systems;
* Algorithms and methods for dependable computing;
* Dependability and security benchmarking;
* Safety.
In its 4th Edition, LADC is going to have its proceedings published
and indexed by IEEE CS. There is also going to be a Best Paper Award.
Extended versions of selected papers are going to be submitted to a
Special Edition of the Int. J. of Critical Computer-Based Systems
(http://www.inderscience.com/).
The 2009 LADC is going to be held in Joćo Pessoa, north-east Brazil,
from the 1st to the 4th of September, under the organization of the
Federal University of Campina Grande. We look forward to receiving
your contribution to LADC 2009! Please, take note of the important
