Quantics is growing…

Quantics is a top end statistics and information 
consultancy working with public and private 
sector organisations providing specialist 
knowledge in health (both clinical and 
managerial), pharmaceuticals,agrochemicals and 
foodstuffs. The work is very varied, from face to 
face discussions with US, European or Japanese 
regulators, to novel use of classification trees 
in NHS surgical governance portfolios.

...and needs new staff to meet its ambitious expansion plans.

SeniorStatistician £50-£70K Edinburgh

Job Summary

With offices at Roslin BioCentre, Edinburgh, and 
Tweed Horizons, Borders, we are seeking a highly 
motivated senior statistician who is seeking to 
apply their knowledge and expertise in a 
challenging new role. We are looking for someone 
with extensive and appropriate experience who 
wants to help drive Quantics forward, and share in its achievements.

This permanent post would be based at Roslin BioCentre, Edinburgh.

Job Description

As a senior member of our team you will be 
involved in strategic planning for the company. 
You will have full responsibility for managing 
projects and junior staff. You will also be 
involved in hands-on analysis for a wide range of challenging work.

Skills/Experience Required

You will hold a postgraduate degree in 
statistics/mathematics and have a record of 
leadership in large projects and assignments. You 
must be able to demonstrate excellent analytical, 
interpretation and communication skills together 
with a strong customer focus and interpersonal 
skills. The communication of complex ideas to 
non-statisticians is vital. You also need to have 
recent supervisory experience and be able to work 
accurately under pressure. Flexibility and 
adaptability are important in this role.

Statistician £20k-£30k  Edinburgh / Borders

Job Summary

As part of our planned expansion we are seeking a 
statistician who wants to gain experience in a 
wide variety of statistical techniques as applied 
in the pharmaceutical, health, ecotoxicology, and 
agrochemical sectors. Quantics is a fast growing 
company with offices in Edinburgh and the 
Scottish Borders, and opportunities for promotion are envisaged.

Job Description

Reporting to one of our senior statisticians you 
will be responsible for providing statistics and 
analysis on a wide range of projects - the range 
of the work is varied and will be 
challenging.  Training to enable you to meet 
these challenges will be provided as required.

Skills/Experience Required

Our preferred candidate will possess a relevant 
degree to MSc or PhD level and probably a year or 
two postgraduate experience. You should be very 
familiar with either SAS, or S-PLUS, or SPSS. You 
must be able to work accurately under pressure 
and to communicate complex ideas clearly and 
concisely to non-statisticians, both orally and in writing.
