The PhD studentships will be based in the Exeter Climate Systems (XCS)
research centre located within the Mathematics Research Institute. Our
rapidly-growing centre seeks to develop and apply new mathematical and
statistical methodology to help solve pressing interdisciplinary
problems in weather and climate research. The centre currently has 12
academic staff (4 Chairs, 2 Emeritus Chairs, 2 Lecturers and 4
Research Fellows) and 11 PhD students.

Three of the studentships will be funded as part of the University's
ambitious, inter-disciplinary 'Climate Change and Sustainable Futures'
initiative:

Funding for the other topics will be awarded by the School on a
competitive basis.
