We don't have such a database but would be very grateful to be kept
informed of your progress in this area.

Subject: a database for planning student numbers
Dear colleagues -
A while back I emailed you all to see whether any fellow-planners in the
sector have a database that they use to plan student numbers for future
years, setting admission targets and so on, drawing data from student
record systems and supporting financial modelling; and whether there is
a 'product' that we could explore for our own use here at Brighton
In the absence of any off-the-shelf solution emerging from our
investigations , we've done quite a lot of work to design a
specification for a database and we're poised to issue an invitation to
tender to do this work
Before issuing the ITT I wanted to check one more time that other
universities have not moved ahead in this area in the intervening period
If you do have a database of this sort, it would be extremely helpful to
hear from you, either to me or to my colleague Manish
Many thanks
Ps could I also take this opportunity to let my fellow planners know
that I am leaving Brighton at the end of this month to move to the
Institute of Development Studies. I am very grateful for all the help
and advice you've offered, directly and otherwise, through this
mailbase, during my time here and I hope to keep in touch with planning
matters from my new position. The advert for my current post was placed
in last week's Guardian and is on the Brighton website if colleagues are
interested: I can recommend it unreservedly.
