Hello,
to add more work for you, remember to check for the Capercaillie (Tetrao
urogallus). The male of this bird is in the size of turkey and peacock. Tetrao
urogallus was described in the Munich book by Katrin Erbersdobler (1968). At
the present I collect data of the metrics and morphology of 17th century
turkey in Götebrg, Sweden in the hope to avoid characters that are more
modern (from recent "improved" types os turkeys). There are a few late 19th
century bird in swedish collections that I will check too. In my data colletion I
also include immature specimens.
