You are invited to apply for a new position as Lecturer in
Media/Communications at the University of Stirling. Working within the
Department of Film, Media & Journalism (FMJ), you will be suitably
qualified to undertake research at the highest level in the media and
communications field, and to teach and supervise postgraduate and
undergraduate students.
After a successful RAE 2008 outcome (with 70% of output in the top two
categories) FMJ at Stirling is targeting increased research
performance across all indicators over the next five years in order to
further enhance its position in a competitive international market.
Applicants should be able to contribute fully to the next phase of
development of the Department, evidencing a research record comprising
both publication and grant-related activity; and should be experienced
teachers at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Applicants should
have research expertise within at least one of the following areas:
screen studies (Television, Film, or Internet); media policy and/or
media economics; media representation of ethnicity and/or gender.
This is a full-time, permanent position which will commence on 1st
August 2009 or as soon as possible thereafter.
