The first edition of the Kakuma News Reflector is now available online
at www.kakuma.wordpress.com. KANERE is a refugee free press devoted to
independent reporting on encampment and human rights. As UNHCR is the
only source of regular reporting on Kakuma camp, we aim to provide an
alternative news source from the refugee perspective. The news magazine
is published on a monthly basis and a print version will be distributed
in the refugee camp. We welcome comments and contributions from all our
readers.
Our Vision: "In exercising a refugee free press, we speak in respect of
human rights and the rule of law in order to create a more open society
in refugee camps and to develop a platform for fair public debate on
refugee affairs."
