Clinical Trials Statistician
Salary: £31,513 - £52,086
Closing Date: 4 February 2009
Applications are invited for a Clinical Trial Statistician (lecturer/senior lecturer) to work in the Newcastle Clinical Trials Unit (NCTU).
You will be based in the Institute of Health & Society and be expected to take a lead in the design and analysis of clinical trials led by investigators based within the Institute, across the Faculty of Medical Sciences, across the region and, on occasion, from across the UK.
The post will involve providing advice on design, analysis and costing of the statistical aspects of clinical trials to investigators, and supervising junior statisticians. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are therefore essential. A full list of duties and requirements can be found in the further particulars where a fuller version of this advertisement can also be found.
The NCTU was formally established in late 2003, and has full CTU registration status within the UK Clinical Research Collaboration.
Informal enquiries may be made to Professor Elaine McColl, NCTU Director, by e-mail (to [log in to unmask]<mailto:[log in to unmask]>) in the first instance, and are strongly encouraged.
(It is likely that further vacancies for Statisticians, within the NCTU or the NIHR Research Design Service for the North East, may be available in the near future; informal enquiries to Professor McColl are welcomed).
The post is available immediately.
