Peninsula Medical School, Universities of Exeter and Plymouth
Research Fellow or Senior Research Fellow in Patient and Public Involvement
Salary in the range £31,513 - £44,930 pa, depending on experience and qualifications
Five year fixed term contract
The Peninsula Medical School is a partnership with the University of Exeter, University of Plymouth and the NHS in Devon and Cornwall. The success of the College is evident in many ways; it has the fastest growing medical school in the UK with an impressive track record in research and teaching. Following national competition it was awarded the first new dental school in the UK for over 40 years. Most recently, the South-West Peninsula Clinical Research Collaboration (SWPCRC) of which the College is a leading partner was awarded £10 million of funding (plus £10 million matched funding) to establish a pilot Collaboration for Leadership in Applied Health Research & Care.
The Peninsula Medical School wishes to recruit a Research Fellow or Senior Research Fellow to deliver PenCLAHRC's mission to embed meaningful patient and public involvement (PPI) in all its activities. You will need to use a variety of approaches depending on local circumstances and existing PPI activities, and you will need to work with all PenCLAHRC stakeholders.
The successful candidate will have a strong track record of meaningful engagement with patients, carers and service users. You should have an honours degree in a relevant discipline, a Masters level qualification in a relevant discipline and, for the senior position, a PhD is essential. You will have demonstrable research experience and knowledge of qualitative methods.
This is a University of Exeter appointment.
