italian-studies: Scholarly discussions in any field of Italian studies
The Canadian Society for Italian Studies has a new website:
http://canadiansocietyforitalianstudies.camp7.org/
Up to date information on the CSIS upcoming conference at Carleton University (Ottawa, May 23-25) can be found on the website. This year's theme, set by the Canadian Federation for the Humanities and Social Sciences, is: "Capital Connections: nation, terroir, territoire." It invites an exploration of identity as physical space; the space of a people, a nation, and their historic ‘terroir.’ It asks the question: has globalization produced a sea-change in our understanding of the relationship between place and who we are?
A 125-word abstract should be sent, along with a brief bio, to the session organizer not later than February 13.
You can become a CSIS member or renew your membership on-line. Alternatively, it is possible to print out a membership form and send it with a cheque to the CSIS Secretary-Treasurer.
Cordially,
