Normally I would ask the person to contact our Finds Liaison Officer who
is usually available in the office one day a week. If they were
unwilling to contact her I would photograph the object (with a scale),
ask them to mark on a map / AP the location of the find, obtain their
personal details and find out as much as possible about the
circumstances of the find. I would later obtain the advice from our FLO
on the find as I do not have this expertise. If the find was potentially
'treasure' I would advise the finder to contact the coroner and seek
advice of our FLO on procedures.

Question.
If A detectorist was to walk in off the street an offer to record a find
direct to the HER
what data would you expect as a minimum..
