Senior Project Manager (level 2 or 3) for the Transitional Justice Programme
The Transitional Justice Programme at the Centre for the Study of
Violence and Reconciliation is seeking to employ a Project Manager on a
3-year contract for its Cape Town office.
Responsibilities include:
* Oversee the management and implementation of a large, multi-component
and multi-country project
* Manage relationships with implementing partners, and initiate and
maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including multi-lateral
organizations, government officials, and civil society groups.
* Manage project staff
* Donor reporting and donor relations
* Financial management
* Contribute to CSVR’s overall strategic programming
* Contribute to CSVR’s transitional justice programming in Africa
* Conduct regular travel to countries of engagement for project supervision
Qualifications
* Post graduate qualification or equivalent in the field of law or
social science
* A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience involving senior
management responsibilities
* Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and projects, coordinate
activities in multiple locations
* TJ expertise and experience
* African political content knowledge
* Experience and knowledge of African regional human rights mechanisms
(ie, AU, ACHPR) preferred
* Excellent research and writing skills
* Experience with fundraising
* Professional level English language skills
* Excellent oral and written communication skills
* Good leadership skills and experience, ability to manage staff relations
* Strong analytical skills

* Contribute to TJ Programme strategic thinking and work
* Contribute to financial management of project
* Conduct relationships with implementing partners
* Conduct regular travel to countries of engagement
* Contribute to tracking of key TJ developments on the continent
Qualifications
* Post graduate qualification or equivalent in the field of law or
social science
* A minimum 3 years of research or training experience
* Good writing, research, analytical and communication skills
* Experience in designing training materials
* Fluency in English. Proficiency in Swahili a plus.
* Demonstrated ability to take initiative and be flexible, work
independently, and play an active role in a team environment
* Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and projects, coordinate

Qualifications

Senior Administrator for the Transitional Justice Programme
The Transitional Justice Programme at the Centre for the Study of
Violence and Reconciliation is seeking to employ a senior administrator
on a 3-year contract in its Cape Town office.
Responsibilities include:
* Plan and organise workshops and seminars, including logistical support
for international conferences
* Schedule meetings and take minutes
* Liaise with clients, contractors, partner organisations and stakeholders
* Maintain data and files on project activities and information
* Assist with financial transactions on day to day project activities:
keep petty cash; complete cheque requisitions; invoice clients; and
track payments.
* Respond to and draft correspondence
* Basic research: internet searches, maintain a reference database
* Manage contracts with partners and submit and track payment requests
* Provide administrative support to the programme as a whole when needed
regarding contracts, scheduling, shipping, travel, photocopying, faxing,
filing, etc.
* Basic editing and formatting of documents
A suitable applicant will have the following:
* Undergraduate degree or equivalent qualification
* At least 3 years administration experience in the NGO sector
* Interest, knowledge and commitment to issues of human rights
* An easy approachable manner, excellent oral, written and interpersonal
communication skills and ability to work with a variety of different people
* Proficiency in Microsoft Word and other applications (Excel,
PowerPoint, Access, internet and email)
* Ability to multi-task, work well under pressure, meet deadlines and be
organized and detail-oriented.
* Basic financial skills – creditors, debtors, managing petty cash,
cheque processing, etc
