KENNESAW STATE UNIVERSITY

Executive Director Institute for Global Initiatives (IGI)

Kennesaw State University invites nominations and applications for the
position
of Executive Director for the Institute for Global Initiatives. KSU is a
rapidly growing and progressive university in Georgia?s public system of
higher education. Located on an attractive campus in suburban Atlanta, KSU
currently enrolls over 21,000 traditional and nontraditional baccalaureate,
master, and doctoral students.

As the university?s chief international programs officer, the Executive
Director of the Institute for Global Initiatives reports to the Associate
Provost. The Executive Director is responsible for working closely with the
President?s Cabinet, deans, department heads, faculty, staff and students to
implement the Quality Enhancement Plan of KSU?s ambitious ?Global Learning
for Engaged Citizenship? initiative that is a core part of the of the
University?s recent reaccreditation by the Southern Association of Colleges
and School (SACS). This program builds upon the international character of
the
University?s student body, the international travel and study opportunities
for students and faculty, and many opportunities for cross-cultural learning
in
the greater metro Atlanta area and the southeast.

Under its outgoing Executive Director, the IGI developed outstanding
programs

Studies, the Center for African and African Diaspora Studies and the newly
established Confucius Institute. The Executive Director acts as an advocate

international activities, provides university wide leadership for global
programs, as well as managerial responsibility for the IGI staff. This
position
offers an outstanding opportunity for a creative intellectual leader and
skilled

the University. The Executive Director of IGI is a 12-month position.
