Hello,
The current pre-compiled releases include numpy. Now numpy itself depends
on lapack, and the pre-compiled releases don't include that (we just
haven't gone up the dependency hierarchy).
We have just had an example on a 32-bit Linux box here where the
pre-compiled Analysis was giving the warning:
WARNING: Python NumPy module not installed or accessible.
NumPy is required for CcpNmr automatic assignment routines.
Unfortunately that doesn't tell you what was really wrong. But doing
(at the Python prompt):
>>> import numpy
gave the real problem:
ImportError: liblapack.so.3: cannot open shared object file: No such
file or directory
In these kinds of cases this kind of error message can occur because the
library on the machine where the code was compiled is out of sync (so
newer or older) than the library on the machine where the code is run.
But in this case the problem was that lapack had not been installed at
all, so the (easy) solution was to install it (via Yast or whatever).
(Unfortunately you need root access for that.)
It all worked after that.
We'll have to think about distributing lapack, I guess.
