2.2 Second Life in real life: education beyond the hype

2.3 eReturn – using ePortfolios to support women returners to
employment. Two one-day events to disseminate the work of the
JISC-funded eReturn project

The eReturn project is led by the Open University, in partnership with
the UK Resource Centre for Women in SET (UKRC), Cardiff Women’s Workshop
(CWW), the University of Salford, Sheffield Hallam University (SHU),
Centre for Science Education, and ALT. The eReturn partnership has been
working with the Open Source “MyStuff” e-portfolio to support
cross-institutional delivery of lifelong learning for women returners in
their transition to employment.

3.1 Links with capital funding bolster carbon reduction plans.
Plans for cutting the higher education sector's carbon emissions are set

3.2 Learners drive change in email and data services.
As learners increasingly adopt free third party email providers over

4.2 4th International Blended Learning Conference – “Engaging Students

A “Great Idea” presentation should be an effective business or
instructional practice that you’ve used in your blended efforts. We’re
looking for business strategies institutions incorporate for the
successful implementation of a blended learning initiative and
instructional strategies that provide models for incorporating online
and f2f teaching, including the instructional design process, principles
and guidelines.

5.4 LSE public lecture:
Here Comes Everybody: how change happens when people come together

6. Invitations to tender and funding calls
6.1 The JISC and the NEH are making available funding of £600,000 to
support digitisation projects in the humanities that will support
international collaboration.
Project duration: 18 months (from August 2009)
Total funding available: £135,000 to £200,000 (to share between the two
project partners)
