Building a Career as a Statistician by Dr Trevor Lewis on 27th January 2009, London
The aim of the course is to introduce a framework for planning Continuing Professional Development and to introduce an awareness of the range of skills that are required to be a successful statistician in a team-based work setting, where role and organisational changes are the norm. It is expected that the course will enable participants to enhance their CPD plan to build a strong career foundation.

Introduction to Bayesian Methods by Dr David Lucy on 25 - 26 February 2009, Lancaster University
Introduces the use of Bayesian methods for data analysis in the social and empirical sciences, including basic concepts such as the subjective interpretation of probability and the use of Bayes' theorem in updating information.

This one day course is the foundation to all presentations of statistical information. The basic principles of presenting information in tables, charts, maps and text are explained. These are illustrated and then reinforced through practical exercises.

It covers the interpretation of information by non-statisticians, the reporting of data - of any description - within organisations, and the presentation of a message to specific communities and the general public.
