Tracey,
We similarly had great fun exploring this. We were told that it was not possible
to buy individual journal backfiles, but only subject collection top-ups.
For example, the 2008 top-up for the Science collection costs £728:
http://www.oxfordjournals.org/for_librarians/archive_prices_08.pdf
But that top-up collection contains just a single title, namely ICES Journal of
Marine Sciences!
So the answer 'No' to our original question: 'Can we purchase the archive of
ICES Journal of Marine Sciences' was a little misleading!
It looks like (just) the two journals you require were in the top-up for the
Science collection 2007, see
http://www.oxfordjournals.org/access_purchase/archive_upgrade.html but I can't
find a price for the 2007 top-ups.
To be pedantic, the backfiles of Integrative and Comparative Biology are
actually The American Zoologist as the current title was only adopted in 2002.
It is also available in the JSTOR Biological Sciences collection, but a
subscription to a collection is not the best way to obtain perpetual access to a
single title...

Subject: [LIS-E-RESOURCES] Oxford Journals Archive - query titles
Hi there
I am trying to find out some information regarding the Oxford Journals
Archive that was licensed last year under a JISC Collections Agreement.
My understanding from my colleagues and from the JISC Collections web
site is that two titles, available as part of the Oxford Journals
Archive, are not covered by the JISC Collections Agreement as they were
digitised after negotiations had finished. These titles are:
* ICES Journal of Marine Sciences (1903 -- 1995)
* Integrative and Comparative Biology (1962 -- 1995)
Since notification late in 2007 that these titles were not included, we
have been trying to licence access to them with Oxford directly.
However, we are still unable to secure access, or even obtain a price
quote. There was some mention from Oxford of trying to secure a
supplementary national contract with JISC to offer all of the additional
OUP archive titles to everyone. I wonder if this is the cause of the delay?
Anyway, I am just wondering if anyone else has managed to licence access
to the archives of these two titles?
Many thanks in advance for your help.
Kind regards
Tracey Randall
