SUETr Training Event - Advocacy & Cultural Change
22nd January 2009 - York St John University
For more information and to register for updates, see the project wiki at -
http://suetr-acc.wikispaces.com/
Event Overview
Institutional Repositories reach far outside the institutions that create
them, requiring IR managers to have an understanding of areas such as
advocacy and cultural change, and the ability to liaise with many external
parties.
This on-day event will offer perspectives from:
- a publisher
- an author
- a funder
and look at the question of Open Access and other related issues. The focus
will be on advocacy and understanding the changes brought about by the IR.
The aim is to enable better communications between IR staff and external
parties. This will be done through a mixture of case studies and workshop
sessions.
There will also be time in the day to network with other IR staff and with
the speakers.
This event is free and open to all UK HEI staff, though preference will be
given to SUE project staff if the event is over subscribed.
Who should attend?
The events are aimed at staff who are either setting up an institutional
repository (IR) or are already running an IR and are wanting to develop
their repository further. The programme aims to support IR staff with
practical sessions from people working in relevant fields and also to
facilitate networking among the UK HEI repositories community.
