A request for help from colleagues working in outdoor settings.

I'm starting to work with a group who will be developing various themed trails or routes based on the heritage of the local landscape. There will probably be a few building based sites (like mini visitors' centres) where information, interpretation, etc can be provided but the majority of the 'museum' will actually be the great outdoors itself.

It's been suggested that we have a basic leaflet for these trails, supplemented by downloadable information from a central website, podcast items and (increasingly) other information that users, volunteers, history groups, etc want to pass on to us. As far as I'm aware the target audience will be fairly broad (probably starting off with special interest groups but branching out to schools, families and other community members).

I think we could do with looking at some examples of good practice to guide us in this work. Any suggestions about this - and also what pitfalls to avoid - would be very helpful.

Many thanks
Becky Liddell
