A project officer is required to develop the project into its third year
into through to completion.
Exploring Surrey's Past is an innovative project to increase public
accessibility to the wealth of heritage information held within Surrey's
museums and archives and supported by the Heritage Lottery Fund.
We are looking for a confident self-starter with a passion for the
historic environment. You will have a degree in a heritage area such as
Archaeology, History or Museum Studies and exceptional IT skills.
Experience of website development, especially database driven and content
managed websites would be advantageous.
Self-reliant with excellent organisational skills, you will have
experience in outreach work, including working with teachers, pupils,
members of the public and the voluntary sector. You will have experience
of developing outreach activities and education resources, preferably
gained within the heritage sector and project management experience. An
outgoing and creative personality, with the ability to develop a strong
network of contacts are also key attributes for the post.
You will be expected to work flexibly which will include some evenings and
weekends.
Due to the nature of this post, a disclosure from the Criminal Records
Bureau will be required.
Applicants will be required to give a short presentation at interview.
